Hoe werkt Kickstarter? (NL)
Kickstarter is een crowdfunding platform waarop makers een product, spel, boek of gadget kunnen pitchen en met pre-orders hun doelbedrag bij elkaar krijgen. Het is een populair concept omdat hiermee de startinvestering die nodig is voor een project gezamenlijk ingelegd wordt.
De ‘backers’, bijdragers aan de crowdfunding, krijgen in ruil voor hun bijdrage de eerste druk, een gelimiteerd of exclusieve editie, unieke extra’s of het product voor een lagere prijs dan later in de winkel.
Daarnaast is de populariteit van een crowdfunder een indicatie van de vraag naar het spel, zowel voor de initiatiefnemers, de ontwikkelaar én voor winkels en retail. Een deel van de spellen in de lokale spellenspeciaalzaak zijn ooit begonnen als Kickstarterproject.
Kickstarter is een alles-of-niets concept, waarbij het doelbedrag binnen de gestelde tijd gehaald moet worden. Als dat niet gebeurd, krijgen alle bijdragers hun geld terug. Hiermee loopt u niet het risico dat uw geld bij weinig interesse weg is. Als het doelbedrag gehaald wordt, gaat het project door, en wordt er doorgespaard naar ‘stretch goals’, nieuwe doelen waarmee het product mooier, beter of interessanter wordt.

Wat zijn jouw ‘tiers’ nu precies? (NL)
‘Tiers’ zijn de verschillende keuzes in bijdrage. Ik heb vijf tiers (levels), waarvan je er één kan kiezen als jouw ‘pledge’, je inleg. Elke tier komt met ‘rewards’, de producten die je ervoor terug krijgt.
Level 1: €30. Hier krijg je een Deck of Many Things met regenboogontwerp op de achterkant, in een stevig doosje met regenboog ontwerp. Dit level is het startlevel, alle ‘stretchgoals’ die bijvoorbeeld een gratis artprint toevoegen gelden niet voor dit level.
Level 2: €35. Hier krijg je een Deck of Many Things met hommelontwerp op de achterkant, in een stevig doosje met het hommel ontwerp. Bij dit level komen ook alle eventuele extra’s van de ‘stretchgoals’.
Level 3: €50. Hier krijg je een Deck of Many Things met hommelontwerp op de achterkant, in een stevig doosje met het hommel ontwerp, én een fluwelen zwart zakje met een geborduurde hommel erop. Bij dit level komen ook alle eventuele extra’s van de ‘stretchgoals’.
Level 4: €250. Dit level heeft een van de 22 geschilderde canvasdoeken erbij in, en kan dus ook maar 22 keer gekocht worden. Daarnaast zit alles van level 3 hier ook in.
Level 5: €400. Dit level komt met een nog te maken schilderij, waarbij de koper hun wens mag doorgeven qua ontwerp en kleur. Daarnaast zit alles van level 3 hier ook in.

Will there be a pick-up point in The Netherlands?
Yes! You will be able to pick up your package from a retail location in the Netherlands if you click on ‘pick-up point Bie de Bolle’ in the BackerKit survey, after the Kickstarter ends. The address of the pick-up point is: “Bie de Bolle, Dam 1A, Goes, The Netherlands”. We will not keep your package there indefinitely though, so make sure to visit the store in December, January or February if you want to pick it up yourself!

How do I get an original canvas?
There are only 22 canvases available, and you might have a favourite selected already. In order to buy an original canvas, pledge the Lvl 4: Famous Dwarven King tier. You will get a confirmation email from Kickstarter with your confirmation number just above your pledge. Forward this email to [email protected] and include the title of the canvas you wish to purchase.

This will be a first-come, first-serve system, and I will do my very best to reply to the emails ASAP, but please be patient; I also need sleep. If you already have a second and/or third choice, do include them in the email. In the rare situation that someone else emailed me earlier and you do not wish to purchase a different canvas, you can cancel or change your pledge (see also, Can I change my pledge during the campaign.)
If you do not email me your preference, I will assume you want a random painting and act accordingly!

Can I change my pledge during the campaign?
Yes, you can choose add-ons later if you want. You can also select a higher or lower tier or cancel your pledge. Read more about it here:

Can I buy the Deck of Many Things after the campaign?
Yes and no. The Bumblebee Deck is a KS exclusive item, and won’t be for sale afterwards. The Rainbow Deck will be available through retail channels, if and when we get funded. Supporting this Kickstarter means you help make this Deck a reality; if we don’t reach the goal(s), I won’t produce the rainbow deck either.

Why is there a WWF Donation in my pledge?
I am a firm believer in taking action to put my principles into practice. I find wildlife conservation one of the most important charitable causes to support, and have pledged to put a significant amount of my income as a business towards WWF Nederland. The easiest way to implement that in this Kickstarter was to add a flat €1 to the production price of each Deck, which will go directly to WWF when we’re funded.

How do I add another Deck or Add-on?
While the campaign is live, you can click “manage pledge” on the campaign page. Here, you can change your reward tier (level up!), change the amount you pledge or select add-on rewards.
You can now select a Rainbow Deck, a Bumblebee Deck or an Artprint to add to your pledge! This will also add to the campaign budget, helping me to unlock the stretchgoals and goodies!

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
